- Level III: Deep depth peel, will peel for 5-10 days
Am I a good candidate for a customized peel?
You are good candidate for this procedure if you want to improve your skin texture, tone, and discolorations, and fine lines. You must also be able to stay out of the sun for at least 2-3 weeks following the peel.
Your personal consultation
During the consultation, you will be asked about the results you expect to achieve from the customized peel. This will help us to understand your expectations and determine whether they can be realistically achieved.
How will I be evaluated for a customized peel?
Our licensed aesthetician will examine your skin to determine what type of peel would produce optimal results for you. She will take into consideration your areas of concerns and the type of downtime that you are comfortable with. You should be prepared to discuss your medical history. This will include information about any medical conditions, drug allergies, medical treatments you have received, pregnancies, previous surgeries, and medications that you currently take. It is important for you to provide complete information.
How is a customized peel performed?
Our licensed aesthetician will cleanse your skin and use a prepping solution to wipe away all oils from your skin. The peel will be done in layers and she will monitor your skin for signs of “frosting”, which is an indication that enough of the peel has been applied. It is recommended that the customized peel be done three times, 4 weeks apart.
How do I prepare for a customized peel?
Avoid any photosensitizing topicals or medications for two weeks prior to treatment. This includes retinols, hydroquinone, glycolic acid, and antibiotics. Avoid sun tanning or direct sun exposure for 2 weeks prior to and after treatment. Please arrive to your appointment with your face freshly cleansed. Let us know if you are pregnant, or have a history of cold sores.
Customized Peel- How will I look and feel initially?
You will start peeling on day 2 or 3. Once the peeling begins, you may start using NewenSkin Post Procedure Recovery Ointment. Be sure to use sunscreen daily after the peel and avoid direct sun exposure for at least 2 weeks. The amount of peeling you experience will depend upon the peel level that you received.
