micro-needling-treatment

Revitalize your skin with treatments designed to regenerate your skin, enhance healing, and maintain skin health with the power of growth factors, antioxidants and vitamins. Microneedling creates micro-channels in the skin to stimulate collagen and allow for deeper penetration of treatment serums. Four phases of wound response help in stimulating new healthy tissue growth after microneedling. First, an inflammatory response (1-3 days), to the initial injury promotes the chemotaxis response and proliferation of fibroblasts. The body’s platelets also respond to initiate a wound matrix. This response is the early phase of cell migration to remove debris and bacteria and stimulate the next proliferative phase. During the second phase (3-5 days), the new fibroblasts, monocytes, keratinocytes of the first phase continue to proliferate and multiply. New collagen will be laid down and deposited with new tissue formation. Next a fibrotic response (5-20 days), of growth factors are released and fibroblasts release collagen. Finally, the maturation stage of new healthy skin takes place from day 28 to 2 years after treatment. Collagens mature and stiffen and the matrix of new tissue shows 80% to full tensile strength.

Am I a good candidate for a microneedling?

You are good candidate for this procedure if you want to improve your skin texture, improve fine lines, tighten your skin, improve acne scars, and promote healthy glowing skin.

Your personal consultation

During the consultation, you will be asked about the results you expect to achieve from the microneedling treatments. This will help us to understand your expectations and determine whether they can be realistically achieved.

How will I be evaluated for a microneedling treatment?

Our nurse practitioner will examine your skin. You should be prepared to discuss your medical history. This will include information about any medical conditions, drug allergies, medical treatments you have received, pregnancies, previous surgeries, and medications that you currently take. It is important for you to provide complete information.

How is microneedling performed?

Our nurse practitioner will select the appropriate needle depth for you, and create microchannels in your skin using our microneedling equipment. After the microchannels are created, she will infuse a special serum into your skin to stimulate skin regeneration. After the session you may have some pinkness or slight pinpoint bleeding. Your skin will look smoother and tighter after the treatment. For optimal results, 4 treatments are recommended spaced 4 weeks apart.

How do I prepare for my microneedling treatment?

Please arrive to your appointment with your face freshly cleansed.

How will I look or feel initially?

Post-treatment pinkness for a few hours can be expected. You are advised to wear sunscreen daily.
