vi-peel

The VI Peel is a medium depth medical peel that contains a powerful synergistic blend of TCA, Phenol, Retin A, Salicylic Acid, and Vitamin C, and is suitable for all skin types. It is stronger than the Vitalize peel. This peel provides dramatic results with virtually no pain, no skin preparation and little downtime. Enjoy radiant, younger looking skin in about a week with the VI Peel. The VI Peel will improve the tone, texture and clarity of the skin; reduce or eliminate age spots, freckles, and hyper-pigmentation, including melasma; soften lines and wrinkles; clear acne skin conditions; reduce or eliminate acne scars; and stimulate the production of collagen, for firmer, more youthful skin.

Am I a good candidate for a VI peel?

You are good candidate for this procedure if you want to improve your skin texture, tone, and discolorations, and fine lines. You must also be able to stay out of the sun for at least 2-3 weeks following the peel.

Your personal consultation

During the consultation, you will be asked about the results you expect to achieve from the VI peel. This will help us to understand your expectations and determine whether they can be realistically achieved.

How will I be evaluated for the VI peel?

Our licensed aesthetician will examine your skin to determine the appropriateness of the peel. You should be prepared to discuss your medical history. This will include information about any medical conditions, drug allergies, medical treatments you have received, pregnancies, previous surgeries, and medications that you currently take. It is important for you to provide complete information.

How is the VI peel performed?

Our licensed aesthetician will cleanse your skin and use a prepping solution to wipe away all oils from your skin. The peel will be done in layers and she will monitor your skin for signs of “frosting”, which is an indication that enough of the peel has been applied. It is recommended that the VI peel be done three times, 4 weeks apart.

How do I prepare for VI peel?

Avoid any photosensitizing topicals or medications for two weeks prior to treatment. This includes retinols, hydroquinone, glycolic acid, and antibiotics. Avoid sun tanning or direct sun exposure for 2 weeks prior to and after treatment. Please arrive to your appointment with your face freshly cleansed. Let us know if you are pregnant, or have a history of cold sores.

VI Peel- How will I look and feel initially?

You will look slightly brown from the peel residue. You won’t wash off your face until the next morning. You will start peeling on day 2 or 3. Once the peeling begins, you may start using the protective moisturizer that is included with your VI peel. Be sure to use sunscreen daily after the peel and avoid direct sun exposure for at least 2 weeks.
